Two Trapani rattan lounge chairs with the ottoman and glass side table under an olive tree in a sunlit courtyard

Trapani Rattan

Scroll

A rattan lounge set in a Mediterranean courtyard, built for material honesty under hard sun.

The set is a lounge chair, a matching ottoman and a glass-top side table. The hand-woven rattan, the linen cushion fill and the bevelled glass all had to read as real under direct, warm sunlight rather than in a flat studio.

I modeled and UV'd the set in Maya, textured it in Substance 3D Painter and composed and graded the finals in Photoshop. The material breakdown shows the construction behind the hero shot, not just the finished image.
